I unfortunately know very little about this piece. It came from the estate of an Italian relative living in America. I've done some research on these pieces and the value seems to vary significantly, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
An old oil painting made by Ilona Karacsony, we do know her story, but we would like to know if it's worth anything, it's in mint condition. There is an original seal at the back of the painting. The name of the painting is aquarius !
There is a teapot, coffee pot, sugar and creamer, waterpot, and warmer. They have scalloped edges on top with black handles and knobs on the lids. I think the black might be ebony. From what I am told, all work was done by hand.
They sit on a Sheffield tray approximately 18" X 30", oval shaped.
Found this at a garage sale this weekend and it was too intriuging to pass up. The doll is made of paper mache and is old. How old? IDK? The color is still amazing so I would be pleasantly surpised if it is as old as the era it represents. It appears to be a civil war style uniform that the somewhat androginous soldier boy is wearing. It has what I assume to be the artist's first or last name at the very bottom "Dian".. This is all I know. Please help
