This item appears to be old, perhaps before the Germany was split to E. & W.Germany.
It is shaped like a Gerz (Gerzit) figural beer stein pitcher, but without the beading found on the band under his hands currently listed on Ebay for $120, being sold by seller durom 10. The back of the one listed is a little different from mine too. The German words on on the front of the stein are the same.as the one on Ebay,
There is a 1/4" long very thin slot on top of the handle 1" from the back edge of the opening. There is no other indication that there may have been a lid attached, except for the slot. It does not appear to have any rubs or scuff marks that would indicate that there was a lid. The colors are different, bolder than the one on ebay. Mine has a dark complexion on his face, and hands. The one on Ebay appears to have a white face and hands.
There are no cracks, scratches, craziing or flea bites on this item. Notice the Scroll on the front under the arch just above the German writing. .The Left part, above the "i" is not painted, but is painted black over the "W", Also note differences on the arches under the band. I think the piece was fired after it was painted.
I have a record, and the singer is Cathy Cass. I have no idea as to who that is. It says it was recorded at Wayside Records in Maynard, Mass. I tried looking up something on Wayside Records, and my search came up short. I can't find anything on this record or singer. I was wondering if anybody else knows anything about her? On one side, the song is "What It's Like in Vietnam" and on the other side the song is "Pardon My Heartache"
