I posted this item a few days ago as a lamp. I found out that someone had actually made this into a lamp and that it is common for people to make light fixtures out of antiques. The added items lowered the value drastically so I removed the lamp portion and realized that this piece was in perfect condition! Maybe just a few small knicks on the inside. Thanks to "prozak" who mentioned an artist "Angelo Minghetti" I found the artist's signature and it IS his work. I hear these pieces are rare and highly sought out in Italy? Can anyone give me a rough idea of what this is worth? It is very hard to find information on this artist in English online...
Solid oak hanging hutch. Used for glassware and decorative dishes. Original plate glass shelves (2) and original blown glass on back and front doors. Lock and key on outside door (center open). The top and bottom are simple decorative oak.The bottom part has a small shelf. One small (3") piece of molding is missing on bottom. Original cording on inside of glass.
This is a pretty picture that's been in storage for awhile and I am thinking about rehanging it in the family owned funeral home...we had alot of compliments on it before. Does anyone know the correct name for this type of woven wool wall hanging? It also has the original wooden frame on it. Woven on the back just below the frame it reads, "Made in France." There are no signatures on it - I have no clue who the artist is.
