Works great. The outside jacket slides up and down, while exposing the wick to light. BY sliding the outside jacket back down, the cup on top covers the wick and the flame is extinguished. When in the closed position the outside jacket locks firmly and can be carried safely upside down. There are no markings or symbols anywhere that I can find. Looks handmade and could be made out of a bullet casing or two. I hope someone out there can tell me something about it. thank you.
I've owned this chair for 30 years. I had it professionally refinished and upholstered a few years after purchase. It is in excellent condition and the red velvet has not faded.
I have no idea what it is or how much it is worth.
