The contents of each volume has lots of interesting reading. The great attraction is the illustrations and fold-out colored fashion plates. One - Two gorgeous fold-out prints that are hand colored. They are in pretty good condition and suitable for framing. Please see the photo of the close-up details. Additionally, there are several full-page, finely detailed fashion illustrations in black and white. Several small black and white advertisements on the last two pages and inside covers. I do not know much about this item, other than it's a beautiful peice. The spiraled milk glass above the Pewter Base has a Blue Tinted Rim when held up to the light.
