I can't tell for sure if it's ceramic or clay the bottom looks red like clay - see picture. the picture of the bottom of A did not come out as well as the picture of B. I think there was a glare from the light because they are both equally ledgable. The glaze on the base looks crackled.
the item is hand carved as you can see there is like a key on the back which turns and turns the gearing on the inside and it making the head turn from left to right as it whistles a song from what i can tell it looks more like WW2 soldier but i have no clue all i know my step father got it from his grandfather who was peter frank frank woodward who was the founder of jell-o so i know it is old and nothing fake. there is also another one that does the same thing but the one could take some work on it because it doesnt really work well but i know the one works like it is brand new.
All one piece of furniture, legs and cushions are not removable. Tall arms and back of couch. Leather is soft but taut. A little water damage on the back of the couch is not seen from the front. This couch came from Europe not aware of the designer or maker.
