I found these books upon moving. They were given to me several years ago.
Little House The Laura Years, The early Years Collection, A special Collection of the first five Little House Books. Titles include: On the Banks of Plum Creek, The Long Winter, Little House on the Prarie, By The Shores of Silver Lake, Little House in The Big Woods.
Piece is obviously quite old. Only metal in evidence is the tacks to hold the leather on, though there could be some small brads holding the woolen support straps in place. All joins on frame are done with wood pegs. Some nicks in wood, including evidence of a fracture on right side. Bottom of front legs show evidence of turning because there is a hole. Has evidently spent a good deal of time in storage. Not really sure what condition to list it as because of its apparent age.
The item is a 3 tiered hand telescope. works perfectly. Has cursive engraving on the side stating harcourt Johnstone, Hackness. I can't find it right now but the maker is imprinted also. Can't remember name, but was on bond st. London.
