In 1966 Kittinger Furniture of Buffalo, NY produced a 100th Anniversary Desk to celebrate their 100th year in business.
This is for a 100 year anniversary mahogany desk by Kittinger. This piece has wonderful detailing and its legs have brass fittings and have brass knobs on the drawers. This is a very rare and special piece to find and has all of the unique beauty and design that Kittinger gets its reputation from. Their is a label marking it as being a special 100 year anniversary edition piece from 1856 to 1966, it reads "On the occasion of our 100th anniversary, We present this signed reproduction as an example of the quality of craftsmanship faithfully maintained in furniture by Kittinger for over one hundred years. We hope it may be cherished as an heirloom of the future. President Kittinger Company, Inc." In 1966 Kittinger reproduced classic pieces in commemoration of their 100 year anniversary, many of these pieces were based on famous antique ones and were reproduced with attention to detail. This demanded the ultimate in skills of many talented and deeply experienced Kittinger craftsmen of the 1960s.
My Papa Bill aquired these chairs at a storage auction. He was going to sell them for a rather cheap price but, my family told him we believe they're vintage and he quickly changed his mind.
They are a pair of rather unique chairs. I can not seem to find them anywhere.
Here are the details:
It says "Stanley Furniture" On the Bottom of the chairs so, I believe them to be Stanley Furniture chairs.
This statue appears to be a man practicing falconry. He has a falcon in one hand and some type of bird in other hand. Weighs 7 lbs and seems to be made of bronze but not sure. It is NON-magnetic. It is 17" tall. It is minimal 51 years old and betting much more because I believe it was my grandfathers. Any idea what this is and what it could be worth?
