Gold Gilded Wood Double Picture Frame

Category
Fine Art
Condition
Good
Description

Gold Gilded Wood Double Picture Frame

outer dimensions: 26 inches H x 30 inches long

wood, wood carved mouldings that appear to be oak leaves, berries, and daisies.

14-18 kt gold leaf

slight amoung of patina visible

wood noticeable darker near the hardware seen on the frames back

cannot tell if hardware is hand or machine made

pretty certain that the moldings from which the frame is constructed were hand carved, judging by the lack of uniformity of the countors between corresponding oak leaves for example that occur at the same points of the pattern used. hopefully the pictures provided show enough detail.

i need help determining a few things:

1. approximate age of the frame

2. karats in the gold leaf

3. machine or hand carved?

4. approximate monetary value of similar types of frames.

happy to provide more/mor detailed photos upon request

Set of 3 Oriental Figurines

Category
Asian Art
Condition
Good
Description

This is a set of 3 figurines that I believe to be of Japanese origin. They were purchased a few years ago at an estate auction of a man who had been stationed in Japan during the war. He had accumulated quite a large collection of items and these were part of them. They each measure approximately 3 inches high and weigh about 3-3.5oz. each. I have no idea what material they are made of and as you can see, on one of them, it looks as though it had been attached to something wooden at one point. I am interested to find out what they are worth.

Gobelin woven tapestry

Category
Vintage Textiles and Clothing
Condition
Good
Description

53w x 36h (suggested Gobelin) woven tapestry copied from Italian painter Guido Reni's Aurora. Good condition. Fading, but looks like originally muted colors based on back. No maker's mark to be found yet on back (numerals, initials, signature), have not used magnifying glass. Late 1800s-early 1900s?
