Description

Hope you could help me out....

I have just acquired some antique items from my grandmother, who recently passed at the age of 80,  and I believe this was handed down through her family.

What exactly is it?

What's it worth?

Antique Copper Weighted Hanging Lamp/Chandelier

Category
Lamps and Chandeliers
Condition
Good
Description

Found in our attic. On some of the pieces it has the following:  Patent Pending, HS Fisher, followed by several dates; the last one is 1864. No globe. I would like to know if it is worth anything at all! Beautiful piece.

London Artwork #2 - Tapestry

Category
Fine Art
Description

I purchased this, also on Portobello Road, in London about 16 years back. The piece is a very delicately made framed tapestry depicting a musician playing his instrument to woo two sitting ladies in the era of the 1800's. The frame does not appear to be antique, but the tapestry does. I haven't ever seen a tapestry so delicately woven.

London Artwork #1

Category
Fine Art
Condition
Good
Description

I purchased this on Portobello Road in London about 16 years back. The finish of the art is smooth lke a print, but the back framing suggests that is is aged. I don't know when prints began to take over for real art, but this piece appears to be an antique.
