LEONIDAS Antique golden pocket watch

Category
Watches and Timepieces
Description

Antique golden pocket watch, that has been in my family for about hundred or so years. The watch is LEONIDAS  and its entire case is made of gold. it is missing however the set of hands that show the hour and minutes, the ones in the small dial for the seconds is still there. When I open the back lid on its reverse side it has a little crown and the letters L.W.E. and a little bit lower 56, 14K 0.585, and benieth it all the number 607709. On the second lid there are 7 circles like logos and it reads  15 Rubis Balancier Compense LEONIDAS PRECISION. On the back of it again there are the crown and the numbers like on the previous lid. The case of it is somewhat beaten up, with some dents on the sides, but being golden, I quess that is not surprising. on the very front of it there is a monogram with the letters H and M.

Buffet/Sideboard and China cabinet

Category
Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

Hello, and thanks for your time and looking in advance!  Well, the buffet/sideboard and china cabinet has been handed down through the family.  The original origin is not exactly known...we think it may have been possibly sent from England, but again not really sure.  There are no company names or markings on them, nor any dates anywhere, and believe me, we have searched throughly!!!  Lets start with the buffet:

The wood color is orginal, has never been refinished.  It does have the frame to where a mirror can be placed on the, what I would call, a backsplash.  from the photos you can see that it is not very ornate, except for the trumpet styled legs that have small wheels on them.  It seems to be of a solid wood construction except for the side doors, the one on the right definatley has a veneer aplied to it, becuase the corner of it is lifting up.  I know it is difficult to tell from the photos but the hardware on the drawer pulls and hinges are also original.  The drawers are dove-tailed in the corners, there are no screws holding them together.  The smaller middle drawer has  two brownish velvet inlays.  There's not much else that I can say in the description...we would like to know possibly the year and its orginal origin, a value would be nice, but its much more valuable to us keeping it, we, again, would just love to know more about it!

There is not much to say about the china cabinet except what has been said about the buffet.  It is definately from the same collection.  The trumpet legs, the edge trim and upper top piece is exactly as the buffet is.  The glass in it also seems to be orginal due to its thickness and imperfections. The glass is plain, it is not beveled around the edges.

Hopefully someone out there can help our family find out more about the pieces, anyone who would have known more about these have since gone to be with our Lord and Savior, so if anyone could help us PLEASE, it would be much appreciated! Thank you again in advance!!!
