I bought this armoire / wardrobe from a family. I thought about purchasing it and refinishing it. After I got home and examined it, I noticed a lot of scratches and one area where a child had engraved "mom". The keyed opening is broken but can be opened by turning with a screwdriver. There is a mirror on the front that is in good condition. The two drawers in the base are in fairly good condition. There are a couple of places where the edges have been banged against something. There is a metal plate attached to the inside of the door. It reads Furniture - Decorators - Gardners - A. Gardner & Son -Jamaica Street, Glasgow. I am trying to contact a couple of people that deal with antique restoration to see about restoring the scratches. Does anyone have any idea what this item might be worth? Any tips on what to do or not to do in regards to restoration?
Bought this peice at a local estate sale, dont know much about it, except that it was made in Italy and had several artists symbols/intials in hope that mabe someone has seen this peice before!
I know nothing about this item except they seem to be slave leg iron shackles with a bell attached. Measures 15 inches in length not including the bell. Width of the ankle iron is 2 and 3/4 inside measurement. Three links total, outside links look like ribbed iron and middle link looks smooth.
This a Peerless Poker table model no. 404. I believe it is from 1908. It is in good shape but needs a little TLC. The legs all fold out correctly and the table is fully functional. It has been sitting in the family cottage for 80 or so years in the closet upstairs.
