The bottom drawer on the 6 drawer chest has a cover on it so when you open the drawer, you have to pull a string to open the lid. It is really cooooooool! I would like to know anything and everything I can about these beautiful pieces....
Mohogany Secretary. Not sure of the age, hoping someone can tell me. Also, does the hardware look origional? The drawer has a curve and the outer edge of the brass pull does not conform tho the shape of the drawer. If it is not, can someone tell me where to look for replacement hardware/
This is an indian on a horse back. I do not know what it is made out of i am thinking lead with a gold overlay of some sort and its is heavy but i am unsure of the weight.
This is a wood arm chair with a removable pillow, see pictures for photos of with the pillow in place and without the pillow in place. Pictures also show handwriting underneath the chair itself. The finish is goldish paint with black specs. The fabric is brownish velour, seat cushion worn, fabric faded. on the chair's top is two pineapple looking finials. Chair has embossed wood carvings in 3d around the backrest and around the seat cushion, as well as around the armrest areas. Not sure if this was part of a dining room set or just a single chair.
Not sure of value, would like to have it reupholestered and used as a accent piece. Any advice as to the value, style of the chair itself, decade it might be from, what color and fabric if I decide to upholster it so as not to diminish its value, but enhance it. Would it be better to sell it as is or reupholster it and then sell it? Or just keep it? Thank you in advance.
