antique love-seat

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

This was always called the "horse hair love-seat".  I don't know if it's horse hair or not.  The material is faded in the seat part, a mouse, unfortunately, chewed a hole in one arm about 3 inches wide. The wood is carved, the rest of the material and trim are not damaged.

Henry Birks & Co Vase

Category
Pottery
Condition
Good
Description

This vase with gold detail show the stamp from Henry Birks & Co of Montreal. Here is some history from the manufacturer that I have found:  Henry Birks & Company was established in Montreal in 1879 as a retail jeweller.  In 1893 Henry Birks' three sons joined the business and the name was changed to Henry Birks & Sons.

It seems to be in great condition with only two small half chips on the delicate rim. The measurements are Tall:5" Wide:5.25"

Is it a replica of some sort - or the real deal?

sliver table caddy from civil war era

Category
Silver and Silver Overlay
Condition
Fair
Description

note in one of bottles " very old Anitque of Janet Christensen Barber given to her by her sister.  This is valuable also rare - I (Susie Klute) had it Sterling re-silvered in 1942- Shoulb Be Good Luck. Take good care of this- Harry +Susie (I love it)  Dottie-Don-Mary +Dee"  there are two other words at bottom of note that I can't read.  This note was written before 1967 (I would guess in the late 50's)

glass is hand cut, lots of details but no markings to identify.  I don't know what to call this to look for it online.  I haven't figured out what all the bottles are for:  salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, and ??  but that one looks like the top has a little slot for a spoon or fork in the lid

the top part rotates the bottles around like a lazy suzan...... moves easily without squeaks or anything (not sure if that makes any difference)
