Lane Dining Room Set

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

I have a Lane Furniture dining room set from Alta Vista, Virginia. I have a table with two removable leafs and four chairs and also a dining room buffet with two different removable hutches that can sit on top of the buffet. The hutch shown in the picture also has small lights inside of it at the top.

There is a ticket on the bottom of each chair that states: "REG. VA. 2411 - This article is made in compliance with an act of: Dist. of Col. approved July 3, 1926; Kansas approved March 1923; Minn. approved April 24, 1929; New Jersey revised statuses 26; 10-6 to 18. Lic in Maryland. Lic in Pa. MADE BY THE LANE COMPANY; ALTA VISTA, VIRGINIA." There is a number on the bottom of the table that says 74-294-55-SER-R-669030 and the table number is 15039. All of the furniture I have is in good condition. I was wondering if you could tell me approximately how old my furniture is and how much it is worth. Thank you!

dresser w/ swivel mirror

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

Hi, i was wondering if you could give me some information on this dresser. I was given this by an elderly woman 22 years ago, who wanted to throw it out. Its in good shape, i never did anything to it but replace the mirror. Ive kept it oiled with furniture oil. It has five drawers and the front is burled walnut veneer. The veneer on the drawer fronts is 1/8" thick. The joining for the drawers appears to be hand cut to me. There is alot of over cutting the dove tails, and on one of the bottom their is a different number of dove tails on each side.  Any help would be appreciated. I belive the old mirror had Basset on the back, but that was a long time ago.   Thanks, Tim Carroll

Library Desk

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

I have a double pedestal table, a dark wood, I believe stained walnut.  It is 42" wide by 26" deep, has one smooth front faced lap drawer.  There are no markings as to manufacturer, no dovetailing, it seems to be put together with wing nuts.  I don't believe it to be veneered, the only reason why is because there is a chip in the front by the drawer and there is no 'lifting' anywhere.

Thank you.
