We have a set of four lithographs, one for each season of the Currier & Ives American Homestead series. We have compared the writing across the bottom to several reprints vs. ones that are claimed to be originals from a variety of online sources. The print on ours matches that of the ones that claim to be original, and this print is different/more than that of the reprints that we have found.
I have enclosed photos of the Winter scene, including close-ups of the writing across the bottom.
i dont know much about this model, i got it from a friend of my grandfather in cape cod, ma 10 to 15 years ago. it doesnt have any makers marks that i can find. it has a plate on the base that says " The President Frigate year 1800" and it has a tag hanging from one mast that says made in spain and has a number 56 on the back.
It's a brown very scenic vase marked "p.v. 1902" on the bottom. It was once sold at auction and is listed on worthpoint.com . That's the only place I've ever saw it besides in my house .
