The plant stand was an inadvertant gift to my grandparents in McHenry Illinois sometime around 1940. No history on who left it for them. It was passed to my mother upon their deaths. I received the planter in 1986 from my mother. My mother recalls that the planter was considered an antique when her parents took possession of it. My grandfather was of Bohemian decent, my step grandmother was of Canadian decent. Item appears to have original finish on it, with a minimal amount of nicks and scratches.
It's a walking stick with wooden knob & brass end. When you unscrew the top you find the bottom of the cue. You unscrew the brass end & screw in the end of the cue, screw the wooden knob back on the end. It's beautiful & I want to know the resale value.
