This is the entire set of Noritake china # 19322. Mint condition. The M in on the back with the wreath. Never used. My grandmother told me it was for collection reasons her grandmother purchased the set.
All I know is this was my grandmother's dining room suite from 1930-1940s. She passed before I was born (1967), but when i got married my father asked me if i wanted it. i did (more for sentimental reasons than anything else). i have not ever really used it. i have had it in storage in my basement for a couple of years (well protected from elements).
My need for a fast appraisal is because today I had a GARAGE SALE and a man and woman came by and spotted the dining room suite pieces and inquired if i was selling it. since it was in the garage partially covered up and not with the other things for sale....i said no, why? well, they said they might be interested in taking it off my hands. It never occurred to me what it was worth, so they asked how much i would take for it. i told them i had no clue. we went back and forth and looked at each piece carefully. there are a few places here and there (nothing major) that need some minor work and they pointed that out and said that they have a little auction and it wouldn't gather THAT much in todays economy, blah blah blah. long story short they offered me $275 for the suite (table with fold out leaf (dont have pic. right now...but good shape overall, has a wobble due to couple of stripped screws underneath somewhere), 1 captains chair, 5 regular chairs, china cabinet, and buffet.....oh, and the high boy pictured (obviously not same suite) also. i was just so suprised that they were SO interested in it to begin with that i couldn't really make a decision like that so quick, so i said no....that just seems low to me. they said ok....give us your number and maybe we will be in touch. i agreed and they left. within the next hour, she has called me 5 times....leaving me message saying they want to talk to me more about making a deal. sooooo based on them calling me right after (5 times) - its got me wondering why they seem so intent on getting this suite. i haven't called her back because i want to be better informed as to what i have before i talk to her. it may not be worth anything and they just like it....or they know something i don't and want to get their hands on it BEFORE i do figure it out. PLEASE SOMEONE TAKE A LOOK and LET ME KNOW....what exactly do I have and what is it worth? THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a silver bowl stamped on the bottom Wm Rogers there is an eagle before Wm and a star after Rogers. There is a hand etched number 418 and what looks to be a 2 to the right and a little above the middle of the 8.
The bowl has scalloped edges with flowers in the scallops.. looks kind of like daisies.
