Appraisal? Japanese 24k gold tea set

Category
China
Description

We have a japanese set from our grandmother and would like it appraised.  Believe its a tea set, with 8 cups each with a carved image of a buddhist monk (each one is different).  On the bottom of the cups it says "24k."  I believe only the outside of each cup is gold but I'm not certain.  I believe each cup weighs .8 ounces or so.  I'm having trouble uploading photos so I apologize for not being able to post them.  Anyway if anyone has an idea of what these are and what the appraisal value is I appreciate it.
