As you can see, it opens up. That's all I really know about it. It does have 4 small feet on the bottom that are pressed out of the copper, as well as some black paint residue on the bottom.
I have not been able to find anything even close to this in the 7 months that I have been trying to identify it. I think it is a smoking stand but one of my friends thinks it is a shrimp bowl and is sure that the brass ashtray doesn't belong with it.
This very thick, heavy tangerine or orange blown glass with a darker orange or possibly ruby swirl in it. Pieces are asymetrical but the bottoms have been professionally ground
