i really have no clue what the value or the history of this chair. all i know is that my great grandmother had it and she passed a while ago and they are just sitting around.
This is what I call a conversation chair, but it is also known as a tete-a-tete. I got the chair from my mother who bought it from a woman about 40 years ago. It is a really interesting chair. I'm not sure of its date, but a local antique dealer said that it was probably from the early 1900s.
As much as I love the chair, I've moved and the new living room is much smaller than my old one. The chair just doesn't fit in the house now - not in a way that shows it off. I would love to find it another home, somewhere it could be appreciated.
My great-grandmother gave this piece to my mom. My great-grandmother got it from her mom. My great-grandmother was well over 100 years of age when she died.
