This statue was dug up by a friends grandfather in central Illinois in the late 70's early 80's. I am curious to know who may have carved it and if it has any value.
This is a cut glass stein with a hinged pewter rimmed glass lid with a total height of 6.25 inches.
The glas is 5 inches high to the lid and the base is 3.5 inches wide. The overall condition of this stein is excellent however there are some nibbles to the inner rim of the glass.
A relative is selling an oak drop leaf table and six matching leather upholstered chairs and we are attempting to determine a fair price. It has a ship carved in the headrest of each chair and the legs of the table and chairs have carved details as well. It was acquired about 30 years ago from a long lost acquaintance so we have no way to determine where it was purchased. There are no labels or any other identifying marks other than some numbers stamped on the bottom of the chairs and some numbers stenciled on the bottom of the table. By the way it came with a matching buffet but that is not for sale.
I'm new to furniture appraisal so any advice on pricing this would be greatly appreciated.
Bought this piece and the history is unknown. There is storage under the arm rests. Looks as if it has been stained. Looking for an approximate value or year/descent or what it is. Very unique and heavy.
<p>I acquired a silk stamp painting of an Asian Madonna. I was told it was Chinese, but it almost looked Japanese to me. The value on the glass was about $400, but I was told it may be worth more. It has No signature, front or back. I am going to try an load a picture below.
