Photo best description. All wood writing desk. Top that opens up is two boards hinged together that fold back when open. Inside desk is small drawer along with 6 cubbyhole shelves. The wooden writing surface pulls out to use. There is a lap drawer underneath and two small but deeper drawers, one on each side. Leg shape can be seen in photo. Legs are solid and not made for casters. Only mark I can find is the number 49 incised into the wood in a small area. Don't know anything about the history of this piece or if it is indeed "antique". Odd looking hinges make me think it is either old or english.
